WWII US Field Gear. 1945 Coleman Model 523 Military Medical Sanitizing Stove W/Case, Wind Screen, Directions & Spare Parts. Lights easy if pumped a few times and primed with alcohol. When it is pumped up it holds the pressure in the tank. Designed for field medical needs, sterilizing medical instruments with boiling water. Sounds powerful with both burners active. Stainless steel case easily holds all stove items and can double as a tray and large pot (shown in photos). Coleman Model 523 USA MD is stamped on black frame and US Medical Insignia etched on outside of Stainless Steel case. Booklet dated 1945 and later reprinted in 1950, the booklet covers several stoves and shows this particular stove in section 1 page 3. The wind screen was a later addition in 1963.
