1920s Vintage Coleman Lamp Company Two Burner Camp Stove Model 1 All Original. It was made by Coleman Lamp Company in Wichita Kansas in the 1920s. This is the model 1…. The very first of the Coleman stoves. It is all original and has not been restored. It is fully marked on the brass nameplate you see in the photos. It is about 17 x 11 x 4 inches in size when closed and it is heavy. It is cleverly designed, with a swing out fuel tank it swing forward over the front edge. Fuel (likely kerosene or white gas at the time) can be put in one end of the tank by removing a threaded wing nut. The other end of the tank has a pressure pump. A tee shaped wrench for adjusting the flame contorl is attached. It has feet that can be swung into place and it has a wind screen. The wind screen also has feet that can be swiveled down so that, folded back, it can be used as a small work area. This is now about 100 years old, so it has some wear as you can see. However, the rust is not bad at all for one of these, is surface rust, and would likely clean up. We find no areas rusted out or obviously broken and we dont see anything missing. The placement of the two burners as compared to the grill above seems awkward but in pictures we can find, it seems to be the original design. Note wear on the finish as well. We have moved everything, removed the fuel wing nut, and pumped the pump. We have not put fuel in it or fired it up. About Me Vernon Nokes, P. Box 270048, Littleton, CO, 80127.
