Ca 1900 “Spark” Cast Iron Pot-Belly 14 Miniature Stove, Antique Kitchen, Primitive Stove, Collectible Toy, Vintage Planter, Cottage Chic, Rare. This is a lovely 14-inch tall stove made by the Grey Iron Casting Company of Mount Joy, PA. Originally equipped with a smoke vent pipe, it burned wood or coal and worked as a miniature stove, heating a room or cooking a meal. Solid cast iron construction puts this piece at close to 13 lbs. Actual dimensions are 13 3/4″(t) x 9″(l) x 8(w). A faded black paint with light scratches and areas of surface rust gives this stove a handsome patina. This stove is a Model 75-3, produced around the turn of the 20th century. It has two working dampers, a removable top lid, a levered ash grate which turns to drop embers, ornate work on the body, lovely cabriole legs and a hinged ash removal door that latches in place when completely closed. This door seems a bit loose when opened, and can be lifted off without much effort. We believe that this is part of the original design, but we’re not absolutely sure. This miniature pot belly stove would look lovely repurposed as a planter or as part of an antique display. Although we cannot guarantee that it would work as a old-fashioned space heater, used to boil water or cook food, this stove seems complete except for the missing vent pipe. This part is mandatory if planning on active use, along with good overall room ventilation and safety around the stove when lit. We do not consider this a toy by 2025 standards, and highly recommend against use by a child. The legs from the stove will be removed and placed in a separate zip lock bag to decrease the risk of damage. Thank you for looking, and have a wonderful day!
