REPLACED GENERATER & FUEL KNOB, NEW FUEL CAP SEAL, NEW DECALE, REPLACED LEATHER PUMP CUP, CHECK VALVE WORKS GREAT. INSIDE TANK CLEANED AND AIR OUT INSIDE VALVE BODY. TESTED ALL ORIGINAL PARTS TO BE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. FUEL KNOB TURNS FREELY. SOME MINOR DENTING AT PUMP AREA’SEE PIC”, BUT HARD TO SEE IN PICS, NOT SIGNFICANT AND PERFORMS WELL WHEN LIT “SEE PICSHAD TO REPAIR CAGE WOTH WIRE AND RESET OVAL TO MAKE SURE ANY POTS WILL SET ON CAGE. Includes the original box which has been cut open like a lid on top. The top is stamped “Stanbuds 1 9543 Denver Colo”. There is also a marking about 1 in size made with ballpoint pen/ sharpie on top of the cardboard. Box measures about 9″ x 9″ x 7.5 when closed. Stove measures 11″ at the widest and 7″ high. Weights about 5 pounds. This would make a FABULOUS gift for the mountaineering gear collector. It is something you can be very proud to give to a loved one. Rare 1959 Coleman 500A Single Burner Gas Stove with Optional Drum Heater. This stove comes from my Coleman collection of many years. It’s a 500A, manufactured in June of 1959. Coleman introduced the 500A Sportsmaster stove in 1954 to replace the older 500 Speedmaster. The 500A is easily recognized from its predecessor by the green painted steel fount and Coleman decal. It also features a round grate and larger filler hole and cap. The 500A stove was made in Wichita, KS until 1962 when it was replaced by the smaller model 501 and shortly thereafter the Coleman model 502. This is a used stove and works beautifully, as I have lit it many times while camping. (Please note this is not the smaller Coleman 501/502 stoves, but the much larger 500A). Coleman never made an accessory heat drum, but the Ramp-Site Products Co. In Oklahoma City, OK made the one included here. Its called The Drum Heater, No. This stove also includes a hand-made WW-II style windscreen. We are pleased to offer for your consideration a previously owned and gently used VINTAGE / ANTIQUE COLEMAN SPORTMASTER 500A STOVE, dated January 1957, with its original cardboard box. Cosmetically the tank is in very good condition with no rust, no dents, no dings, no missing paint except a little on the very bottom rim. The metal grate does show some minor corrosion and paint loss to be expected – but evidently not used very much. We tested this stove and it worked great. We added a small amount of fuel in the tank. We pumped up compression, turned the knob and lit it. Within a few seconds the generator was doing its job with a nice blue flame. We left it burn on low for one hour without repumping. After one hour, we turned it off and drained the tank. The original box is intact but in rough condition from storage all these years. We don’t have any set time limit on combining wins, but you must let us know after your first win in order to prevent any misunderstandings.
