Vintage Preway 3-Burner Stove P4823 W/Box, Manual, Funnel, Stem Untested – RARE! See pictures to verify condition! This is an untested Prentiss Wabers 3-burner camp stove in pretty good shape for being made and used in the 1940s! Even more amazing are the other items here that also survived: the original box, the original instruction manual, a funnel (probably not part of the original kit), a spare generator valve stem, and a spare fuel filter tip. The stove itself is in very nice condition, showing wear from normal use. There are a couple of areas where the paint is discolored by heat. There are scratches, scuffs, a couple of minor dents, and rust on the lid. The rust is not just surface rust, but it doesn’t go through. The legs are firm, swivel easily, and snap into place well. The hinges are intact. The wing rods are present and original. The tank seems to hold pressure. The gas valve turns easily, but the lighting/pre-heat valve turns hard. The valve handles for the two additional burners are firm and move the burner adjusters as they should. The stove case was cleaned of soot and grease so the true condition could be shown. The instruction manual is in really good shape and very legible. It has folds and tears, but nothing is missing. These are likely the original parts to the stove and were kept just in case. The postmark on the box is JUL 20 49. The pieces of ruler were added to protect the stem. The box is in rough shape. It looks like it’s gotten wet a few times. It was originally sent to Sears and Roebuck in Miles City, Montana. The destination town on the box can’t be read other than the word “CITY, ” but the stove was packed away with part of the Miles City Star from August 10, 1959. That is a bonus inclusion.
