This is a Favorite Stove and Range Company No 10 cast iron Dutch oven pot in restored condition. Favorite cast iron products were only made for a few years and are now about 90 to 100 years old (1916-35). Because Favorite was in operation for such a short time, most of their pieces are harder to find than the corresponding Griswold piece. This pot is in wonderful condition for its age. The cooking surface has some utensil scores and very fine etching from corrosion towards the outer edges. These are undetectable as you glide your finger over a near glass smooth surface. Pot has movement on a granite surface (see photos) and is not recommended for use on a ceramic stovetop. No chips, cracks or repairs. Item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. Item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hours. This item were photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item will take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light. Photos are part of the item’s description. Please use them for a more clear understanding of items overall condition. If you have any questions, please let me know.
