Bundle Trailblazer Cookstove + 2 Extra Straight Pipes
This is the Trailblazer Cookstove, which includes the stove, the inserts, the grilltop, and two 12″ straight pipe sections, one with a spark arrestor attached, plus an extra two 12″ straight pipe sections. This is usually what is needed for the new blowup wall tents coming out of the China. Off-Grid cooking is always a challenge. The Trailblazer Cookstove (TM) from Stonehouse Forge provides a huge cooking surface and a spacious oven burning regular campfire wood. No need to hang a pot over a tripod or wrap your food in foil and throw it into the fire. Your Trailblazer cooks just like your stove at home. The cooktop is giant, 396 square inches. The main cooking port has two rings to accommodate large and small pans. The generous oven is 11.5 inches wide by 6 inches high by 14.5 inches deep. The firebox can accommodate both wood and coal, and underneath is a removable ashpan. Two sections of 12 inch stovepipe are included with a diffuser cap. This can be lengthened with standard 4 inch stovepipe. Flue control to maximize your burn for both cooking and heating. Accurate thermometer for delicate baking. Oven includes a “smoker” hole to give you more of a camp flavor. Shatterproof glass windows add to the elegance of this classic Cookstove. Gasketless doors are tight and very little smoke escapes. All accessories fit inside the stove. Chrome plated legs fold for a compact 50 pound portable package. Includes printed instruction manual. Question: Can this be used to heat and cook in a small home or tent? Answer: Because of the liability, we cannot suggest that you use the Trailblazer in any enclosed space. We have personally used it for many years in a hunting camp. We use a leather mat underneath and are careful to not brush against the stovepipe. To extend the stovepipe, we use 4 standard stovepipe, which is slightly larger than the included pipe. So we slit the pipe and use a clamp. Question: Does the oven maintain regular baking temperature of 350F? This product was made for villagers in Turkiye and is used extensively for daily cooking needs. To maintain 350F you need to crack the door or ashpan a bit to increase airflow, and you have to watch your fuel. Once you have a coal bed, maintaining temperature is very easy with additions of small amounts of fuel. Question: Can you cook on the entire cooktop or just over the hole? Answer: To boil a large pot of water you will want to remove at least the middle cap and cook over the hole. Once your pot is at temperature, you can move it to over the oven and it will maintain a boil. We have cooked a 24 inch paella pan of hashbrowns without even removing the cap. Eggs and other more delicate foods are best with the cap on, or over the oven. Question: Does the oven cook evenly? Answer: The fire is only on one side so you do have to rotate your food. It isn’t so extreme that one side doesn’t cook and the other burns. We show you the pictures and videos of cooking two large chickens in one 13×9 pan to demonstrate the versatility and practicality of relying on the Trailblazer for all of your off-grid cooking needs. Question: Define heirloom quality. Answer: The Trailblazer is made of heavy guage steel, powder coated on the outside. The rivets will rust. The chrome will most likely begin to rust at some point, but we have used one of these stoves for over a decade and dozens of trips, and there is no degradation whatsoever in the actual function. 6: Question: What is the best fuel to use in the Trailblazer? Answer: We have cooked entire meals with just falldowns from one dead tree. Palm fronds, if you have a lot, work great. For overnight woodstove use, we cut logs to match the length of the firebox, and split them when they are over 4 or so in diameter. Coal and Anthracite work great and give you long lasting heat with plenty of BTUs to bake. Even grill charcoal works if you fill up the firebox.
