STIBNITE CRYSTALS Stayton District, Hollister, Diablo Range, San Benito Co. This is part of a 45-year-old collection, which has been out of circulation for 20 – 25 years. When these specimens were acquired many of the mines were flourishing, now most are closed and specimens like these will only be part of the past. This specimen is 3.5 cm long x 2.6 cm wide x 1.6 thick, it weighs about 3.4 grams, equating to about 17 carets. In my opinion not near as valuable, especially how they culture everything.
