WW2 US Army squad Stove. RARE AND HARD TO FIND. This is an amazing lightly used, WWII US Army 1945 Chrysler Airtemp squad stove. The stove is totally self contained for transport. Serve isolated units from 15-40 people, depending upon the type of foodprepared. The lower stove section isinsulated on all sides and on the bottom. The top half consists of a windshieldwith detachable cover which can be locked on. One side ofthe wind shield may be folded down for easier access when frying, and the stovemay be assembled with the opening side on either the burner or stack side. The burnerhas been selected for its simplicity of construction, operation and maintenance. It willburn leaded or unleaded fuel, kerosene, diesel, oil and even crankcase drippingdiluted with fuel. This is is an original World War II Outift, Cooking, Small Detachment STOVE. Stamped CHRYSLER AIRTEMP 1945. It has never been used!!!! It was developed to serve isolated units from 15 to 40 men, depending upon the type of rations served. It is compact and light, and can bee easily be carried by motor transport or backpack (each of the two sections forms one backboard load). The burner has been selected for its simplicity of contruction, operation , and maintenance. It will burn leaded or unleaded gasoline, kerosene, or light diesel oil. It uses about one-third of a gallon an hour, and should burn SMOKE-FREE. The fuel is gravity fed from a five-gallon gas can (not included). It is compact and everything fits inside it. It includes a copy of Technical Bulletin (TB) 10-400-2, entitled OUTFIT, COOKING, SMALL DETACHMENT, dated 194 5. It appears to be complete. All the other components appear to be included. Comes complete with original wood packing crate. The paper was sealed up until I took this pics for the listing. THIS IS A GREAT FIND. If you do cooking during living history encampments, this is a lot smaller and lighter than a M-1937 Field Stove!!! The crate says 150lbs. Otherwise its local pic up only. Lot of 5 (FIVE) vintage stainless Coleman M530 WW2 era Squad type Camp Stoves. Contract stoves used throughout the war, with this particular civilian model pressed into service until they were militarized with a coat of olive drab paint and officially adopted In 1944 by the US Army. FOUR of these five stoves should fire up easily with little or no effort or minor tinkering and have their original fuel funnels. The fifth is an unserviceable “hangar queen” strictly for display, spare pats, cannibalization or restoration.
