Country/Region of Origin: United State. Has one of the original Hours of Collection paper from the Post Office. The box also displays a label with the manufacturing date on the front of the box (see pictures). The box comes with its original pole mount for hanging. Made by Danville Stove MFG Co. It measures Height- 20 1/4 inches, Width- 13 1/4 inches, and Depth 9 1/4 inches and the box weighs 60 pounds. The brass front on the box is missing 5 of 6 of the screws. One Vintage Cast Iron Reading Stove Works, Reading PA 1889 mailbox. This box was patented in June 1889 and manufactured by the Reading Stove Works in Pennsylvania. Ast Iron and weighs 45 pounds. Measurements are Height is 16 inches, length is approximately 13 inches and depth is 7 1/4 inches. Front corners of the mailbox have been brazed on and ready to be refurbished. The front has a pull down for insertion of letters. Also in front is an original collection time from the Post Office in Oak View, Ca. The mailbox was patented in June 1889 and manufactured by the Reading Stove Works in Pennsylvania. Original color of the box is Olive Green. Antique 1925 Cast Iron U. Estate find – don’t know a great deal about the box. Marked Danville Stove MFG on sides. Front marked Letters and Pull Down at top. Dated 1925 on bottom. On inside its has No 1 on front bottom and on sides its marked. Appears to be in good overall condition from age. Does show some wear as expected – has been repainted, shows a crack in metal on bottom, there is a piece on back that has been chipped off, shows dust and wear on inside (inside has not been repainted). Original lock has been changed with modern lock and key. Original lock is included with box but there is no key for it or bolts. This does NOT come with any type of mounting bracket or other hardware. The box measures approximately 20 inches tall, 13 inches wide, and 8 1/2 inches deep. The item is very heavy and is in its original state. I do not paint or touch up items as I think the original state definitely gives this item flair. The paint is worn. I see no breaks in the metal. The original mounting brackets are included and be sure to not put the two brackets together as they do lock tight.
