My journey of building rocket stoves began two years ago. I started with designing and building a large stove for my own use in emergency situations, like a power outage at supper time. I had many suggestions for a stove that was portable. So in the end I ended up with this stove I named Shadrach. The stove features heavy all steel construction with 2400 degree insulation around the base. It breaks down into four pieces that all fit inside a 50cal ammo can. AMMO CAN NOT INCLUDED IN THIS LISTING. The stove is designed to burn any biomass and to direct the heat generated to a pan that sits on the top. A specially designed funnel shape on top allows even heating, the use of different sizes of pots and pans, and if a wire/mesh was used you could directly cook on it. Daniel 3:1-30 God saves the three Amigos. After many weeks of testing and design I have come up with a stove that burns very little wood and reaches 1000 degrees in the burn chamber. In testing I had no problems bringing an 8 inch cast iron pan filled half full of oil to 400 degrees. The insulated base raises the temperature in the burn chamber to reburn the gasses, direct more heat to cooking surface, and eliminate any smoke. The stove only produces any visable smoke when first lite or if a new piece of fuel is added. Perfect for any outdoorsman, camper, fisherman, hunter, prepper, or even those in an Urban area needing a portable stove using fuel found just about anywhere. The Shadrach rocket stove should last a life time with it’s heavy construction of 3/16 wall burn chamber. Cool down for storage takes around 20 minutes. This stove is designed for outdoor use only and should be set up on a solid surface. I would say that a 10 inch or smaller pan would be ideal for best results. For sale is a RARE Upland #17 wood stove. These were made in the time period from 1977 to 1985… Most of the in Greene, NY from castings obtained in PA and elsewhere. In terms of size, this has almost the exact measurements of the Jotul 602 or Reginald 103 – 16 log, front to back burn, baffle. Made of the finest Class 30 (30,000 lb strength) cast iron. This one comes with the top “convection bagel or glove warmer” – an expensive option. However, speaking for myself (as a wood stove expert), this is in very good condition. It could possibly use a bit of furnace cement (seams – use your fingers to press in from the inside of the stove) to tighten it up. One of the leg bolts was either stripped or broken but I removed it, tapped it and the new setup works fine. Properly maintained, this could be an heirloom and go on heating a couple rooms for decades. First come, first served…. That is, the first person to pay for it gets it. Introducing a portable rocket stove that I have named Shadrach. It was designed, tested, and fabricated in my one man shop. The stove comes in 5 parts. The base or burn chamber is insulated with 2400 degree ceramic insulation and long lasting 3/16 steel tube. The two legs fit into the base with a tab and slot design making for a very stable platform. The chimney is made of the same 3/16 tube with a funnel for improved heat transfer to the pot or pan. And last is an used 50cal ammo can. Everything fits neatly into the ammo can for protection and portability. To get the most out of the stove use small, 1/2 diameter or smaller, wood, twigs, branches, or grass. In testing the burn chamber can get up to 1000 degrees. With an 8 cast iron pan I was able to heat oil to 400 degrees, much higher and the oil will start to smoke. Cool down takes about 20 minutes. For out door use only. This Coleman 502 stove was made in January of 1964. As can be seen in the photos, it is in very good condition for being 52 years old. The stove comes in the original box. It has been cleaned. The fuel cap gasket is new as is the generator. The pump leather has been oiled. The 502 has been fueled. It pumps up and has held pressure for over a week. The Cook Kit, which also doubles as a carrying case for the stove is in excellent condition. The aluminum is still very shiny. There is a circular blemish inside the case where the stove sits. The lid doubles a 6 inch fry pan and the bottom is a 2 quart pot. This kit still retains the original handle and original boxes! Forgot to mention, this stove has been tested and it works excellent.
