QUADRA-FIRE 800 NOVA & QUADRA-FIRE 1000 PELLET STOVE AUGER MOTOR. We sell parts for many types of pellet stoves here in. We only list motors we have in-stock. It has been a cool summer in PA. I do not know what that means for the winter but I think we should. Take care of upgrades and repairs right away. This motor is extremely quiet, to me it is almost silent. These Motors are rated for CONTINUOUS duty. Changing the auger motor is not very hard but it is a dirty and strenuous job gaining access. Not something you want to do every other year. This motor has features that increases it’s service life that others do not. This is top of the line quality, made in the USA. Please remember QUADRA-FIRE 800 & QUADRA-FIRE 1000 PELLET stoves use a 1.3 rpm motor and the shaft turns counter-clockwise when facing the output shaft. This motor only fits these two models. The difference seems small but with a 1 RPM motor you are reducing the rotation by 30%. That means when the stove is set on minimum 30% less pellets will be sent to the fire and your stove may shut down. On the other end if you set the stove on high it will not produce as much heat as before because the auger now turning slower what the stove was. If in other ads, you see the power connections are close to the motor body it means the motor had a clockwise rotation when manufactured and someone has reversed the rotation by flipping it over. This shortens the life of the motor as the motor has to be precision aligned and the screws torque to specific amounts. The connectors should be away from the motor body as shown in the pictures. If your motor is loud on each cycle, making grinding noises, provides an uneven flow of pellets to the burn pot, is over 5 years old or gets extremely hot, then there is a good chance that a new motor will be needed soon. We recommend replacement of the Auger motor when you do your Fall clean up and maintenance work before the heating season starts. Keep your old one for a back up spare. Dont wait for your old. Motor to die when it is under the most load, that being the coldest part of the winter. Two or three days without your stove is more than an inconvenience. A frozen up house is a disaster. Installation is easy; only one set screw couples the motor to the auger. In most cases the motor is not attached to the stove frame. Included are two spade wire connectors in case you need them. Most stoves have ¼ connectors to attach the power to the motors. Some stoves built prior to 2000 have smaller connectors so a set of replacement connectors are included. Just crimp the connector on the wire if necessary. It doesn’t matter which wire goes to which connection as long as they are connected. They are the latest revision of the original motor, keeping all the critical measurements so the motor can be used in place of the original without any modification. What has changed over the years is size of the power motor which drives the output shaft, the composition of the gear drive chain and the high temperature. (350 degree) encased in the motor. These motors just keep getting better and better. The oversize seal gasket acts a noise damper against the wall of the stove. The back of the power shaft is now sealed to prevent dirt or soot from entering and causing harm. The power motor now has a sealed bearing rather than the old bushing common on cheaper motors and the motor leads are soldered to the terminals, not just crimped. The output shaft is hardened steel to prevent wear. These are very powerful yet extremely quiet, weighing in at over 3.5 lbs they are manufactured to give you many, many years of faithful operation with no lubrication or any adjustments to be made on your part. This motor comes from the factory in Counter Clockwise rotation. Beware of motors that are reversed at the dealer or dealers that give you instructions for reversing the direction.
