Birmingham Stove & Range (BSR) cast iron Grill. There are no cracks, breaks, etc. Pretty clean, I sincerely doubt it was actually used, so no specific issues to mention. However, old / been around so could be scratches, casting flaws, other signs of wear, etc. Pictures were taken outside in natural light and are a big part of the description. I cleaned / seasoned the grates. The firebowl / main part of the unit has its original finish, and has developed some storage & age related flaws / corrosion through the years. These do not come up often. I’ve restored hundreds of pieces of cast iron cookware. All go through lye to remove any crud, organic material, seasoning, etc. Then I run them through the electrolysis process to remove any corrosion, rust, impurities, etc. They are scrubbed by hand using dish liquid, stainless steel scouring pads, stainless steel brushes, and magic erasers under cold water to bring them back to the bare metal finish. Finally, all pieces are run through three rounds of seasoning using vegetable shortening. Cast iron cookware will last hundreds of years and generations if properly taken care of. These are beautiful, heirloom quality pieces made right here in the USA. Will be bubble wrapped and surrounded by packing material to ensure that they don’t shift in transit. They are not making cookware like this anymore, and I would consider it tragic if anything were to happen to these in transit. They will be packed very well. Discover the charm of yesteryear with this Vintage SPARK Antique Miniature Salesman Sample Cast Iron Pot, standing at a petite 14 inches. Crafted with the robust quality of cast iron, this piece hails from the United States, where it was forged to endure the test of time. Its unique design and compact size make it an ideal collectible for enthusiasts of antique stove memorabilia. Adorn your space with a touch of history; this miniature salesman sample pot is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of the past. Whether displayed on a mantel or used as a decorative accent in a themed collection, this item promises to be a conversation starter and a treasured addition to any assortment of vintage metalware. Ca 1900 “Spark” Cast Iron Pot-Belly 14 Miniature Stove, Antique Kitchen, Primitive Stove, Collectible Toy, Vintage Planter, Cottage Chic, Rare. This is a lovely 14-inch tall stove made by the Grey Iron Casting Company of Mount Joy, PA. Originally equipped with a smoke vent pipe, it burned wood or coal and worked as a miniature stove, heating a room or cooking a meal. Solid cast iron construction puts this piece at close to 13 lbs. Actual dimensions are 13 3/4″(t) x 9″(l) x 8(w). A faded black paint with light scratches and areas of surface rust gives this stove a handsome patina. This stove is a Model 75-3, produced around the turn of the 20th century. It has two working dampers, a removable top lid, a levered ash grate which turns to drop embers, ornate work on the body, lovely cabriole legs and a hinged ash removal door that latches in place when completely closed. This door seems a bit loose when opened, and can be lifted off without much effort. We believe that this is part of the original design, but we’re not absolutely sure. This miniature pot belly stove would look lovely repurposed as a planter or as part of an antique display. Although we cannot guarantee that it would work as a old-fashioned space heater, used to boil water or cook food, this stove seems complete except for the missing vent pipe. This part is mandatory if planning on active use, along with good overall room ventilation and safety around the stove when lit. We do not consider this a toy by 2025 standards, and highly recommend against use by a child. The legs from the stove will be removed and placed in a separate zip lock bag to decrease the risk of damage. Thank you for looking, and have a wonderful day!
