I removed this Air Cleaner from a 1968 Oldsmobile 442 400 CID – 4 Barrel – TH 400 built in Fremont, California. It’s been sitting in a box in my garage since 1981 or so. It’s 100% all original non restored, painted or other wise modified in any fashion. All original paint shows the correct original orange-red color on the inside without fading. Minor surface rust only and will restore to be an excellent part or is very presentable as is with some detailing for a survivor car. The fluted snorkel end is in excellent condition and shows all the correct forming and stamping marks as is the lid and entire base. It’s not pitted or rusty like an east coast or mid-west parts. The heat stove which is also dent free and the rubber stove to base seal both are in excellent condition. The Therm-AC Diaphragm holds 22 Hg and works perfectly. The door is in excellent condition and seals tight. The temperature switch has been heat cycled tested and works correctly.
