The first-generation Sportsman Grill was made by Atlanta Stove Works and later Birmingham Stove & Range (BSR) starting in the 1930s/1940s. It was originally designed from a sad iron heater and evolved into a charcoal grill around 1941, initially having four legs that were later changed to three for stability. The earliest models had a square-handle fish fryer pan and no lid, and they were made before Lodge acquired the patterns in the 1990s. NOTE : Missing top grill rack & handle for grill pan.
