This is a WWII Military Model 1942 Portable Field Gas Stove Burner & Case. All knobs and control valves move freely. Clearly has been used in the field. Top end legs prop up and snap in place to place a pot on top for cooking. Folds back against unit and the whole thing slides into original case. On one side of stove it is stamped U. Measures 7 1/2″ inches tall (with top arms extended) and 7″ inches wide opened. We have not tested it but it appears to be in working order. Governor’s Antiques and Architectural Salvage. Stove is designed to heat a space and not for viewing flames. A stove’s square foot heating capacity is totally dependent upon room height, insulation etc.. I did an Internet search and an owner reported that it adequately heated a 1500 sq ft 2 story home. The stove has a thermostat control that regulates the damper to maintain heat setting. The stove weighs about 350 pounds and dimensions are 30 inches wide x 36 inches high (37 to top of 8 inch diameter flue) It accepts 24 inch logs. It is made of 1/4 inch steel plate and is brick lined. An instruction book is included that covers installation and operation.
