We recommend replacement of the Auger motor when you do your Fall clean up and maintenance work before the heating season starts. Keep your old one for a back up spare. Dont wait for your old. Motor to die when it is under the most load, that being the coldest part of the winter. Two or three days without your stove is more than an inconvenience. A frozen up house is a disaster. Installation is easy; only one set screw couples the motor to the auger. Some mounting hardware has to be used from the old motor. A new cooling fan is included and it is recommended that it be used. Included are two spade wire connectors in case you need them. Most stoves have ¼ connectors to attach the power to the motors. Some stoves built prior to 2000 have smaller connectors so a set of replacement connectors are included. Just crimp the connector on the wire if necessary. It doesn’t matter which wire goes to which connection as long as they are connected. They are the latest revision of the original motor, keeping all the critical measurements so the motor can be used in place of the original without any modification. What has changed over the years is size of the power motor which drives the output shaft, the composition of the gear drive chain and the high temperature. (350 degree) encased in the motor.
