Pellet stoves will not burn above 8000 feet, there is not enough oxygen in the air. Pellet stoves and altitude. It has come to our attention from our customers that our pellet stoves do not work properly above 8,000 feet in altitude. We have determined the problem to be not enough oxygen in the air at that altitude. The pellet burning only stoves cannot draw enough oxygen to make them work; the wood/pellet stoves do a little better but still have a problem when you reach a certain altitude. Therefore Riley Stoves does not recommend using their pellet burning stoves above this altitude. There is no problem in burning wood at any altitude. Pellets however need lots of draft and oxygen to burn properly. How much heat does a pellet stove put out? We do not have the capability to measure BTUs, however we can put a thermometer on the surface of our stoves. A Wrangler wood/pellet stove burning pellets will produce a surface temperature of 1180 degrees at 3800 feet in altitude; of course as with any stove the higher you go the less heat your stove will produce because there is less oxygen. The Bullet is light weight only 37 lbs. Sturdy and compact, the legs are easily removed for transport. The fire box measures 11″ W x 23.5″ L x 13.5″ H (with a 5″ chimney hole). However, you do lose the flexibility of burning wood. Riley Pellet stoves operates without the restrictions of conventional pellet stoves, they do not require electricity to operate. Pellet burner slides in with clip fastener. Slide door covers pellet burner hole when pellet burner is not used. One minute conversion to a wood burning stove by removing burner. Spark arrestor and damper should not be used on a stove burning pellets. When burning pellets, no spark arrestor is required as there are no sparks. Riley pellet stoves provide consistent even heat, it is every camp cook’s dream. The stove will provide up to 12-14 hours of even heat on a 40 lb sack of pellets. Hopper holds approximately 20 lbs of pellets. Normal burn time is 6-8 hours. Pellet burner allows ash to fall into stove. Good pellets make about 2 cups of ash per pellet bag. MSR Reactor Stove 1.7L. Fast boil time, storm-proof, easy to use hiking stove. Fast, fuel efficient, and virtually windproof, this stove system performs well in tough conditions. The stove has an integrated windscreen and a radiant burner with zero clearance between it and the pot. This minimizes heat loss and provides a stable flame. The heat exchanger is integrated into the cooking pot, so it’s designed to be used as a system, and doesn’t support standard flat-bottomed pots. 1.7L pot is made of hard anodized aluminum. Burns for about 80 minutes and boils 22L of water with a 227g canister. Produces consistent heat output. The burner operates near max at lower fuel pressures and improves output in colder temperatures. An internal regulator equalizes pressure for consistent boil times throughout the life of a canister. Stove and the canister fit into the pot for travel, and a locking lid keeps it all secure. Uses MSR LPG canisters (available separately). Magnesium, steel and aluminum. Here is a very rare set in original unused condition. The BSR skillet was sent in 1980 to a gentleman in Arizona that never used it. It has a very rare cast iron divider with it. In the 50 or more of these skillets that I have owned I have never seen or even knew that these dividers existed. This skillet has a few light surface rust spots. This is the must have for the Birmingham collector that may never come around again. C heck out the pictures and judge the condition for yourself. Most are Coleman’s but a few are Optimus. All of these are display shelf queens. I have not test lit any of these. Most are in usable condition and I will state if they pump and release air thru the generators. The specific condition will be noted above. As always I will answer any questions about a specific lantern. FISHING RODS, REELS, and LURES , I have a whole bunch of Fishing Rods, Reels and Lures to list. I try to identify each and post the names. Some I have found look alike so the maker or model names may not be correct. So ask questions and I will try to accommodate as best I can. If defects are found by me I will note it in the listing. Due to the large number of items I acquire and sell, I may be wrong with the name or description on any one of them. Use the pictures that I include to determine your own description and condition. If you have issues please let me know so that I can work with you on them. Its a shame that the US Postal Service cant do its job and deliver to US Military Personnel and track packages at the same time. Make an Offer is available on any fixed price item, just msg me and we can discuss it. Please make an honest offer and not such a low ball one that no one would accept it. Thank you for looking and have a great day. The item “Vintage Birmingham Stove and Range BSR #14 Cast Iron Skillet and Divider Unused” is in sale since Thursday, September 07, 2017.
