I replaced the factory speakers in my father’s Ampex Tape/Radio system in’69/’70 to give him better fidelity when he listened to NPR every morning. They were in gentle usage for 30 years, when he gave the speakers to me when they remodeled. They have been in storage in my music room since. Our home is non-smoking. I fired them up to be sure all was well, and (dang) do they sound good! The last picture is showing how they were housed all these years. I will describe it to the best of my ability , but nearly every item i sell is from 50 to 100 years old and will show some sign of wear. Is for an amazing cast iron camping stove or possibly for a log cabin at the lakes…….. This is an old barn find from Indiana and it was made in Chicago Illinois. I tried in vain to find some information about this model or even for the company……. Failing to do so , i thought it might be a rare example….. It is dated 1883 and a patent date of Feb. Well marked in several places in the casting. As the pictures indicate…. It is quite small and portable….. The original fuel tank is intact and even the red round wick is here…… There are no cracks or repairs that i can see…… The hinges work fine both the hinge for the top as well as the door…. And the flame advance is moved hotter or cooler by any of the the many levers just above the flame…….. The fuel tank is rolled around with the crank….. And the fuel runs into a trough , then to a brass tube and into the burner……. The stove is shut off by rotating the tank back into an upright position and placing the cork back into it. 17 1/2 inches long……. 10 1/2 inches across the front feet……. 14 1/2 inches tall when the top is upright. There is a small hole in the steel top that should have no effect on the operation , and the isinglass window is missing as well…… And apart from that…… I see no damage at all. I have made no effort to clean this in any way….. And it will be sent just as i took it from the barn…….. Clean it if you want to or leave it in as-found condition for display in your own kitchen or log cabin…….. I think it is a winner , and i have seen camping and cook stoves sell for much more than my starting price……. I hope someone will value this one and that it is as unusual as i think it is. In any event , thanks for looking at my primitive old stove. We USUALLY have around 500 antique , odd , unusual & collectible items listed in our….. WW2 Rare Model MK VI British SOE, SAS, Long Range Desert Recon Group. The compass was used by the S. E, the SAS and the Long Range Desert Recon Group during WW2. The compass has wire lugs for a wrist strap and is blacked in colour and has no markings which is correct for model MK VI wrist worn compasses as not to aid or assist the enemy. The compass does not work but is still a very rare collectible. The compass has surface scratches, a small patch of what appears to a drip of set varnish and wear all of which are entirely commensurate with its age and in particular its use. The compass approximately measures 4.5 cm in diameter. My pictures are not to scale please see my pictures as these form my description also please see my other listings.
